Kickstarter United is a union of workers in product design, customer support, marketing, outreach, research, trust & safety, and software development who build and maintain the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. In 2020, we were the first major tech company in the United States to unionize. In 2025, we sustained the longest strike in the history of the United States tech industry, and secured historic victories for our union, including strong protections for the four-day, 32-hour workweek, improving pay equity by establishing a salary floor, and protections for workers in a world with generative AI.
