The first Black Food, Black Futures Festival was held October 6-7, 2023 to celebrate the rich legacy of Black food traditions and culture in Prince George’s County, MD. The love of food and flavor has been a cornerstone of the Black community, and one that has carried us through the centuries of trials and tribulations. That passion for cooking also extends itself to feeding and caring for those most in need. Over 750 pounds of food were donated by festival attendees to help address local food insecurity!
We know that the backbone of a thriving food system is local small-scale, regenerative farmers. Even if you weren’t able to attend the #BFBFPG Festival, you can still play your part in securing a sustainable future for the residents of Prince George’s County - and look good doing it too! For each piece of BFBF swag you buy, $10 will be donated to
OurSpace World, Inc. to help Black farmer cooperatives purchase land. Malcolm X once said “Land is the basis for all independence. Land is the basis of freedom, justice, and equality.” Help us secure a free and just food future for all Black folks for generations to come!
