FAQs about Change.io for Nonprofits
Good Press Pays Nonprofits via Change.io
Good Press makes it easy for your 501(c)3 nonprofits to receive online store fundraising proceeds safely & securely through our third-party compliance service provider, GetChange.io ("Change").
State laws require compliance reporting for the sale of commercial goods that benefit a 501(c)3 organization (this is called Commercial CoVenture fundraising, or CCV). Our partnership with Change ensures that we can offer this type of fundraising in an easy and compliant way.
How will my organization receive payouts from Good Press?
Your payouts from Good Press will be sent as “grants” from Our Change Foundation ("OCF"). OCF is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization (EIN: 86-3353394) that distributes grants to your organization (or the nonprofit you select as the beneficiary of your campaign on Good Press).
What payment methods are available for our payouts from Good Press?
You set up your preferred payment method when you register with GetChange Corp (“Change”). ACH bank transfers are the best way for Change to provide your payouts, because they are efficient and very secure. If you need an alternative payment method, like paper checks, you can arrange that via the support team at support@getchange.io.
Once you have set your organization up with Change, proceeds will be sent automatically. You can set the cadence of these payouts when you register with Change.
Are there any fees associated with receiving payouts through OCF?
No. There are no fees for receiving grants from Our Change Foundation (OCF). Good Press covers the platform fees for Change.
Are there any other ways to receive payouts?
No. For fundraising law compliance, all proceeds from Good Press sales to 501(c)3 organizations must be paid out through Our Change Foundation.
How long does it take to receive payouts?
Donations from Good Press to Our Change Foundation (“OCF”) are processed monthly and typically received by nonprofits within 30 days. Your organization can also set a payout cadence on Change to extend this timeline if preferred.
In rare cases, OCF is not able to grant funds to a nonprofit, for example if it is not in good standing with the IRS. Should this happen, we can hold the funds designated for your organization for up to 12 months while it reestablishes good standing as a 501(c)3. If this is not possible within 12 months, Good Press will work with you to recommend a different nonprofit organization that is able to receive the charitable funds.
To determine if a specific payout has been received by a nonprofit, please contact the Change Support Team at support@getchange.io.
Are there any Commercial Co-Venture (CCV) reporting requirements for my nonprofit to use Good Press?
No. The CCV reporting requirements are applicable only to Good Press and OCF, not your nonprofit.
